The very first Borneo Lantern Festival was launched by YB Datuk Wong Soon Koh this evening.

YB Datuk Wong would like to make this event an annual thing and suggested that it is to be called "Sibu Lantern Festival" from next year onward. YB Datuk Lau Hui Chew, Daniel Ngiang, YB Awang Beme, YB Vincent Goh , Datul Tiong Su Kok and presidents of various societies, associations and bodies were present to witness the launching of the Borneo Lantern Festival by lighting up the dragon head at Ta Pek Kong Temple Wharf. It was followed by firework display (please click to view).
Together with the rest of of Sibu people and the community leaders, YB Datuk Wong walked to Sibu Gateway for the next Borneo Lantern Festival program.
