This morning (2nd September 2010 9:30am - 11:30 am) Pejabat Perdagangan Dalam Negeri Dan Hal Ehwal Pengguna organized a briefing on COMPETITION ACT 2010 MALAYSIA at Dewan Rafflesia & Cattleya, Tingkat 1, Hotel RH Sibu, Jalan Kg Nyabor, Sibu, Sarawak.
The Act will benefit consumers through lower prices, more choices and adequate availability of quality goods and services and the development of new and better products.
The Act also prohibit against anti - competition agreement , against abuse of dominant position and give power to conduct market review.
For example, under the Act price fixing (by Kopitiam Association and any other commercial Association) may no longer be legal after 1 Jan 2012 after a Competition Commission established to oversee the implementation of the Act.
